A number of years ago I created this blog as a place to share spiritual reflections that were emerging from my own experiences with God and his Word. If you’re reading this, you were likely kind enough to have subscribed – thank you!

The intervening years have been full, but I find myself now with a renewed desire to share from the deep place with God the life he is nourishing me with.

The Open Well

There is a place where my deepest thirst is quenched.

It is a well of peace, love and joy for mind, heart and body.

This well never closes. It is an open reservoir, with free access to all who thirst. It is a gathering place for the thirsty; belonging for the longing.

The open well is Jesus Christ. In Him I find the peace, love and joy my whole being has been straining for. With Him I find soul-satisfying companionship in the company of others who thirst.

There are times I have lived by the well and been nourished by its life and the friendship of fellow travellers. There are times I’ve kept my distance.

I want, more than anything, to stay by the well – with others. My hope is that this Substack can become a place to begin to metabolise the living water I draw up.
